A long eggplant with a very tender skin. You won’t need to peel these!

Giant light green leaves with a mild mustard flavour. They’re so big, you could make wraps out of them! Or chop them up for a salad or stirfry. Product of Ontario

A spinach substitute that grows well in hot weather. It’s got a stronger flavour than spinach when raw, but tastes almost the same cooked.

Organic yellow potatoes from our friends at Laepples Organic farm near Shingletown. Certified Organic. Note that they are a bit soft as they are beginning to sprout. This is normal for this time of year, and they are still good eating!

Paste tomatoes have more ‘meat’ and less water, making them excellent for sauces and salsas. If you are cooking your salsa, paste tomatoes will make it thicker and more sauce like. They’re good eating raw, too.

Taste like peas! Great in salads, on sandwiches, or for snacking on by themselves.

1/2 bushel. These are the best tomatoes for making tomato sauce and canning. Unlike other types of tomatoes, they have more ‘meat’ and less ‘juice’. This means that you won’t have to boil them nearly as long if you’re making a sauce. They are good for making salsa or freezing too. To freeze them, simply wash, run through a blender/food processor, and fill your freezer containers.
These tomatoes are from our farm and grown with the absolute minimum sprays. We normally don’t use any synthetic chemical sprays at all on our veggies, but this season we had to apply a copper fungicide to the plants to fend off late blight.
1/2 bushel is roughly 25lbs or 18 quarts.
Pickup is available at the farm (1497 Line 37, New Hamburg) between 10am and noon on Saturday September 25, 2021 and Thursday Sept 30 from 4-7pm. PLEASE ENTER THE DAY YOU ARE COMING IN THE ORDER NOTES

This kale has very tender leaves compared to regular kale. It is excellent in salads, although it will wilt faster.

A blend of lettuces and mustards. Just wash and add salad dressing!

These are NOT the same as other turnips- they are a specialty Japanese variety with a mild, sweet flavour- a bit like a radish, but not nearly as hot. As a bonus, the tops are excellent in salads, steamed, or stirfried, so don’t throw them out!

These giants are excellent for stuffing! Just slice them in half lengthwise, scoop out the seeds, and fill with your favourite fillings. Bake until tender. These guys are so big, you’ll probably have to cut them in half both ways!

These cool sweet peppers start out white (instead of green) and eventually turn a deep red. They can be harvested at both stages of maturity.

Use as a substitute for spinach when cooked (has a rather strong flavour raw).
